How to build muscle with protein

Protein and protein powder have become the "holy grail" product in the fitness world when it comes to building muscle. But there are many things you can do to build big, strong and defined muscles with the right use of protein. In this post, you will learn how to use protein correctly, to get the best out of your workout!

1. Eat clean proteins + supplemental proteins

It is important to get pure proteins from a regular diet, so that you get essential fatty acids and other important micronutrients. You can of course use protein powder and other additional proteins in addition, but if you include pure proteins it will be easier to get your daily dose.

2. Eat protein regularly

Muscles are constantly being broken down and rebuilt, this process never stops. That's why it's important to eat protein regularly so that the rebuilding process outpaces the breakdown. During the rebuilding phase, the body needs constant building blocks, namely proteins!

If the body has a constant supply of protein, the breakdown process can be prevented as much as possible. Therefore, it may be a good idea to consume protein with every meal, preferably in small amounts and often.

3. Get enough carbohydrates

In order for protein to be used as building blocks and not converted into energy, it is important to consume carbohydrates. Therefore, one should always include other energy sources in addition to protein, so that the carbohydrates are used for energy and the protein for more functional purposes.

4. Drink enough water

Water is a key element in the anabolic process, as it aids metabolism and protein transport. In addition, water has an important function in the cell-volume process, which is an effective stimulator of muscle growth. Dehydration will limit both muscle growth and strength in the muscles, which is why it is very important to always replenish with enough water!

5. Fill up on protein right after training

This may go without saying, but it is very important to replenish both protein and carbohydrates after training. After training, the body absorbs more protein, which allows you to maximize muscle recovery. This way, you can increase muscle building immediately, and thus get even better results from your training session!
